钱伟长反对派遣党团员留学

据机械科学院院长聂春荣同志揭露，钱伟长在1956年出国考察时，在德国有一次向聂说：“现在科学工作搞得很糟，送留学生也全是党委管，送出去的都是没才能的、业务差的党团员。我是喜欢能独立工作的学生而不是一推才动的人，而现在培养的干部都是些‘听话的’，实际上是推一推动一动，不会独立思考没有能力的人。”当时聂问钱：“党团员功课都不好吗”?钱答：“当然啰，党团员一天到晚有多少政治活动，怎么能念好书呢?”
