广西省临桂县饿死五百三十一人

【广西分社十六日讯】广西省桂林专区临桂县，由於粮食统销问题没有彻底解决，在七月二日前，已饿死五百三十一人，身体浮肿的达六千人。

整顿粮食统销工作后，临桂县领导上麻痹大意，没有进行深入检查，各地统销量太少，每月大人十多斤，小孩几斤，米吃完了，吃野菜，以致中毒浮肿而死。现在当地农民生产情绪很低。中共桂林地委获悉后，已调拨大批粮食进行救济。(郭纯青)
